The Halo View 3 does three jobs at once. It records front and rear dash cam footage, it displays a live wide-angle rear view through the 10-inch touchscreen, and it activates a reverse parking aid when you select reverse gear. Most mirror dash cams do only the first two. The View 3's reverse parking aid overlays distance guidelines on the rear camera feed, giving you the visibility of a dedicated reversing camera without adding a separate device.
The front camera uses a Sony Starvis back-illuminated sensor and records at 4K 2160p. Sony Starvis improves low-light performance, which matters for the kind of overnight parking and early-morning journeys where most parking incidents occur. The rear camera records at 1080p with a 120-degree field of view.
The 10-inch anti-glare touchscreen operates as a mirror when switched off and as a live display when on. When reversing, the display switches automatically to the rear camera with parking guidelines. You can also use it to review footage from both cameras directly on the device, without the Road Angel app.
Parking mode requires the hardwiring kit included in this bundle. Both cameras enter G-sensor standby when the vehicle is parked and powered down from the fuse box. A voltage cut-off protects the battery.
