If low-light clarity and 4K resolution at front and rear are both on the list, the Road Angel Halo Elite 4K covers both. Sony Starvis 2 back-illuminated sensors give cleaner results in poor light than standard sensors at the same resolution. This bundle includes a 64GB SD card and a premium USB-C hardwiring kit with DAB noise suppression so parking mode is active from the first install.

About The Bundle

The Halo Elite is Road Angel's most advanced dash cam. It places Sony Starvis 2 back-illuminated CMOS sensors in both the front and rear cameras, not just the front, as is common at this price point. Sony Starvis 2 is an improvement on the original Starvis technology, delivering better light collection in the low-illumination conditions where most dash cam footage becomes unreliable. Under streetlights, in tunnel exits, at dusk, the Elite holds detail where cheaper sensors produce grain.

At 4K 2160p front and 1080p rear, the camera captures sufficient detail for number plate identification at realistic following distances and in adverse light. Every clip is tagged with GPS speed and location data. The 139-degree front field of view covers adjacent lanes.

The premium hardwiring kit (HWK5V-C) in this bundle goes beyond a basic fuse tap. It includes voltage monitoring to protect your battery, multiple fuse tap options for different vehicle layouts, and a noise suppressor to reduce DAB radio interference that some hardwired dash cams introduce. It is compatible with petrol, diesel, electric, and hybrid vehicles.

24/7 parking mode is active when hardwired. Motion and impact sensors trigger the camera if the vehicle is disturbed while parked. The voltage monitoring ensures the camera shuts down before battery drain reaches a level that prevents starting.

The Halo Elite is the right choice for drivers who want the best available protection from Road Angel. Pair it with a Pure Sync subscription to add the UK speed camera database maintained by a dedicated team of field operatives.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the Halo Elite 4K bundle?

The bundle includes the Road Angel Halo Elite 4K dual dash cam (front and rear camera units, both Sony Starvis 2), a 64GB SD card, and the premium HWK5V-C USB-C hardwiring kit with voltage monitoring, multiple fuse taps and a DAB noise suppressor. A 12V power cable and windscreen mount are also included.

What is Sony STARVIS 2, and why does it matter for night driving?

Sony STARVIS 2 is a back-illuminated CMOS sensor technology that collects more light per pixel than standard sensors. In practical terms, it produces cleaner, less grainy footage in low-light conditions, on streetlit roads, at dusk, and at tunnel exits. Having Starvis 2 in both the front and rear cameras means the Elite maintains detail in difficult light from either direction, not just front-facing.

Do I need the hardwiring kit for parking mode on the Halo Elite?

Yes. 24/7 parking mode requires the hardwiring kit, which is included in this bundle. The premium HWK5V-C kit connects to the fuse box, monitors battery voltage, and powers the camera in standby. Motion and impact sensors trigger recording. The voltage monitoring protects against battery drain.

How much recording time does 64GB give at 4K?

At 4K with H.265 compression, a 64GB card stores approximately and up to 4 to 5 hours of continuous loop recording. The camera overwrites the oldest footage automatically when the card is full. For most drivers this covers a full day's commuting. The Halo Ultima supports cards up to 256GB, so you can extend retention by using a larger card.

Does the Halo Elite bundle include a Road Angel subscription?

No. The camera records and uses all features without a subscription. The camera records and uses parking mode without a subscription. All memory is stored locally on the included Automotive-grade SD card. Pair the Halo with a Road Angel Pure Sync adds the UK speed camera database, maintained by dedicated field operatives.

What is the difference between the Halo Elite and the Halo Ultima?

Both record at 4K front and 1080p rear. The Halo Elite uses Sony Starvis 2 sensors in both cameras for improved low-light performance and includes a premium hardwiring kit with voltage monitoring and DAB noise suppression. The Ultima uses a standard CMOS setup. The Elite is Road Angel's top-of-range model and costs approximately £50 more at bundle pricing.

Is professional installation recommended for the Halo Elite?

Professional installation is recommended, particularly for the premium hardwiring kit which offers multiple fuse tap options. Road Angel offers installation at checkout. A professional install ensures the correct fuse tap is used, the cable is managed cleanly, and the voltage monitoring is set appropriately for your vehicle.
